Hi guys. I can't play Destiny right now for reasons that I don't want to repeat, so I thought I would create a thread for all to tell stories of awesomeness, and/or embarrassment. Perhaps there is some great loot that you found that you'd like to share details about? Maybe custom codpiece shoulder piece? You accidentally propelled yourself off the map with insane sparrow physics? Your foot accidentally rubbed up against the power button and you left your wife alone in a boss fight? (UUURRGH!)
Share here.
No seriously. I need to live vicariously through you. Just give me something... Anything.

I think my favourite bit of play so far was the first time we played the moon strike. I was grouped with two total strangers and neither of them had voice communications, but even so, we worked together amazingly. Got all the way through and began an epic battle with pho'goth, which turned into a battle of attrition. We all expended our ammo, and skirted the map looking for any scrap we could find. We wore him down to the point where you couldn't see his health bar any more, then almost at once, all three of us decided to be heroes and rush him. Turns out that was a BAD idea. My two worthy comrades were crushed between the boot of pho'goth, and you would think that would prompt me to change my mind. nope! I charged in, emptying my MG and lobbing a scatter grenade at the horrifying beast. I saw the glorious glimmer of our worthy adversary beginning to dissolve, but alas, at that moment a cursed thrall snuck up behind me and exploded with what I can only assume was an evil chuckle!
We respawned in the chamber before pho'goth, in slight disbelief that we would come so close only to fall heart crushingly short. We paused a second, before giving a collective virtual shrug and charging in to join the battle once more...
We got there eventually, and I got a rare hand cannon and rare gloves for my trouble. Totally worth it.

Right now my coolest story is from this morning. First thing I did was run the Devils Lair, got in with three guys, all equal lvl (8 that is) and decided that I wanted to really work on my hand cannon skills. Well things went south fast at the first major strike point (the one with all the waves) one of the guys kept running into melee with Captains and rage quit, luckily the other guy was rolling strong, he was a bit of a melee nut but he noticed that I was hanging back more and taking guys at range (Hand Cannon is the new sniper, no lie!) I was popping heads like crazy, toss out a grenade, pop some more heads. If he went down I'd hang back behind the crate and melee anyone who came up on the catwalk. We cleared that (no deaths on my part) and went on to the Tank... I started to get concerned cause this dude was a little slow on avoiding the main canon but again he knew that I wasn't going to run out and get killed so he'd respawn, if he was close I'd rez him. About 20m of back and forth and bam, Tank down (still no deaths on my part, and all with Just the hand cannon as my prime) Then to the main boss, I did find that you Want to keep at least one person in by that back room off to the left as you come in, Captains spawn from there and if someone is there they wont' spawn (learned this the hard way as it almost killed me twice). We worked out a good routine and bam, boss down, wait, whats this No Deaths on my part, and all with a hand canon as my primary the entire time LOL. Sadly I didn't get any cool loot out of it Whats up with That!? Edit: I actually found the stat link LOL www.bungie.net/en/Legend/PGCR/2/4611686018428482729/2305843009216073266/55256531?_

Chibirob, I'm encouraged to try the hand cannon now. It was stinking poo in the beta.
I just had a great crucible match! I almost went MVP, but had to settle for second place on the winning team with a k/d of 2.5:1. It's the best match I've had yet. I'm actually terrible at the PVP. I usually feel great if my k/d is merely in the positives. That match, I was on fire. I pulled a sweet move with a shotgun. I sprinted toward a control point and there was an opponent beginning to take aim so I did the slide maneuver and managed to avoid almost all of his fire and the slide got me right up to his face for the kill. I quickly scanned my radar, immediately activated golden gun and proceeded to get two more kills as the guy's mates ran into the room.
Then I got no loot post game. Either way. The satisfaction was loot enough.

I just got my first legendary engram from a crucible match today! It ended up giving me strange coins, which is ok as it is working me towards buying an exotic.

I get beat BAD in crucible...I think auto rifle is best best bet for pvp...the other rifles seem a little too hard kill guardians...maybe I'm just bad still Update: got to lvl 21 and got an exotic sniper rifle...I may have changed my mind to pulse rifle...it depends on stability...auto rifle fires all over the place Good luck guardians !

Last night I was cruising old Russia looking for some spin metal and I saw a guy with gamertag "Kansas city OG". I thought, "Hey wow! I live in KC". So I sent him a party and game invite. It turns out he works at the grocery store right down the street that I shop at. Small friggin world.
