The purpose of this thread is to compile all of the information sources we can find on destiny so that anyone with questions can use it as a one stop shop. I will post the links to any relevant information here, but will not put any info itself so as to avoid spoilers. Before release I expect the information to be sparse and incomplete, but we will improve it as we go. Now on to the good stuff! Destiny Database - a reasonably comprehensive listing of activities, vendors, items, locations and classes. IGN Destiny Wiki - needs no explanation, and as ign are working with Bungie to cover the Destiny beta, should be very much up to date and accurate. Destiny News - very in depth website including analysis of game mechanics etc. Basically any question you may have, it can probably answer it. I will continue to update and add content as I find it, but if anyone else has something they want to share, please do so and I will add it into the original post.

Destinynews.net is a decent source of information.

I happened to find this while pursuing Cheezburger and thought it might be helpful:

I happened to find this while pursuing Cheezburger and thought it might be helpful: As I would gather weapons, those icons struck me as something important but the beta came and went so fast I gave em little thought. I hope there is a lot of customization options, I like building stuff at a workbench. Electrified flaming sniper rifle of maximum flooding with a ice shooting optical enhancer that toggles a rail gun option should cover all the bases... Oh and a soft serve attachment, gotta have that.

Those symbols signify what type of damage they do. Just like each class is attuned to an element, so are the weapons - except projectile.

That's a familiar mechanic. #borderlands (previously on other games? Probably.)

Elemental based damage has been in countless games. I can't say what the first game was that used the mechanic, but I'm fairly certain that Final Fantasy series was the first that I encountered.
